Chios island is the fifth largest island of Greece. It is located in
the north east Aegean sea, a few miles from the coast of Turkey. A fertile
island of contrasts and variety. It is an island of olive green mountains,
surrounded by every kind of beach from sand to unique smooth black volcanic
pebbles. The unique area of Kambos similar to Toscana architecture, has
more than 250 mansions of 10th and 11th centuries, with its charming
tall walls, gardens lemon and orange trees. An island enjoying rich and
exciting historical past, it is the island with its unique beaches, orchards,
mastiha trees, jasmine, home to Homerus poet and traveler.  Chios
has the largest merchant marine fleet in the world. Over 150 shipping
families come from the island, and they are very famous sailors. Just
before Christoforous Colombus was about to discover America he first
